Who is everyone and what you up to? Forgive me if the intro's are old news, I'll have a hunt on older discussions to catch up!

As for me....I am a 'homeworker' based in Emberton near Olney. A freelance new business professional, I have worked with marketing and market research agencies for 9 years now helping them to grow their business. I moved to the area about 3 years ago from York, from London, from Edinburgh, from St Andrews...originally from St Albans.

I look forward to all future conversations!

HI All

I had a thought today - I am a local new business professional that works with marketing agencies (from all disciplines) to help them develop their new business strategy/plan/pipeline - and I wondered if anybody at the FunkBunk would be interested in me coming in for a bit one day to discuss any specific areas?

I work with my clients on positioning, defining potential customers, database building, best ways of targeting companies, writing articles, developing collateral, proposal writing - pretty much anything that helps grow a marketing business.

If you would like me to pop in for a chat/coffee/meeting about anything new business oriented, I would love to help out in any way! Plus....would be a good excuse to come and see the Bunk for real!

T-Shirt Competition! - Cinnamon Chasers Luv Deluxe

FunkBunk music favourites Cinnamon Chasers are looking for t-shirt designs and have asked the FunkBunk family for help!

They are looking to produce a design with no production limit based on their fantastic track and video - Luv Deluxe.

After they collect all design ideas they will choose one that represents the idea the best. The winner designer will be featured on all Cinnamon Chasers networks, pages and merchandise and will receive a financial compensation.

Deadline for ideas is the 18th January. Post ideas on here or email them to sam@funkbunk.com and I will get them all to Cinnamon Chasers.

Workflow / project management apps

Anyone have any recommendations for Workflow/Project Management Apps? They could be local or hosted online and obviously the obligatory associated iPhone app would be a bonus.

There seems to be a few around (basecamp et al) but actually finding someone who uses them and their experience is harder.

Type Tester

A great tool for comparing three screen fonts side by side. It’s great for picking between fonts for a project, etc.

Colour Lovers

GREAT resource for color and patterns. All types of stuff here. I’m sure alot of people have been here, but if you haven’t, go now!

Kuler

A site about color by Adobe. Very cool.

Colorzilla

Cool FireFox extension that allows you to get the color code for anything in your web browser. Has an eyedrop feature like photoshop.

Da Font

Good place for free fonts. Though it’s like every place with free fonts, you have to do some searching to find quality stuff.

Ink Scape

An open source vector graphics editor.

Design Resource Search Engine

A custom google search engine that searches design related sites. Great for finding freebies, textures, etc.

FontStruct

A really cool FREE online font builder.

BG Patterns

A tiling background generator. Very cool tool, and there are tons of options and stuff to choose from. Very customizable.

Superscreen Shots

Take full-size screenshot of any website. Just type in the address, and it’s brings you the screen shot pretty quick.

Icon Buffet

Cool resources for free icons.

Stock Vault

Free stock photography. The site says "11175 free stock photos online."

Texture King

Has a bunch of free textures. Really cool stuff.

SquidFingers Patterns

Some really cool patterns. Free to use and everything! There are 158 patterns and the styles vary.

I am doing some research for a potential new job and wanted to show my client what his competitors and suppliers are doing with the web these days. I thought it would be easy, snowboarding has a great image i thought!

Bloody hell these were a mission to find. For such a cool sport there aint half a load of crap online. This was the best I could find - if you know of any great ones please add em!

Rob has been toiling endlessly to get the FunkBunk community forum all shiny and polished so you guys can really make it your own. There are a few more features too! Useful stuff like email notifications to new comments on discussions.

I'll let Rob tell you all about it but have a fiddle about and see what you can find. Post any questions about how this all works here.

Welcome to the official funkbunk community forum, the virtual home of funkbunk.

We have been running a small design agency in the Milton Keynes area for over 5 years and have seen the prices rise. We have hidden ourselves away in various small studios ranging from the backs of our homes to modest office developments. These solutions have been a way round the expensive costs of Milton Keynes for sometime but have not been ideal for our professional and growing agency.

Recently we had some good fortune and an idea has developed that has bought about a solution to the expense of working within Milton Keynes steel and glass.

By late July we will be moving into our freshly converted new open plan studio just 15 minutes from our Milton Keynes home turf.

Based in 2500sq ft of Women's Auxiliary Air Force base, FunkBunk is our creative, collaborative studio environment.

It's a great space and as there are only a few of us, we'll be rattling around a bit so we are seeking room mates to join us. We are looking for people to complement our multi skilled design team – writers, designers, and those passionate about creative business. This is an opportunity to join forces, extend your services and work in a high energy, creative, enthusiastic and very funky (we're talking style, not smell) environment.

We have a limited number of desk spaces to rent for selected `FunkBunkers'.
